Enter Within Yoga classes are for individuals seeking enhanced flexibility, mobility, balance, and strength as well as a retreat from a stress-filled life. Slow, mindful, somatic movement promotes physical well-being (musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and immune systems), facilitates awareness of the student’s physical and emotional state (interoception), and imparts knowledge of body position in space (proprioception). Yogic practices also provide a framework for strengthening cognitive focus.
Paula’s teaching methodology is rooted in trauma-informed principles and incorporates both neuroscience and traditional yoga philosophy. Carefully sequenced gentle and chair yoga, practiced with self- and breath-awareness, cultivates a more resilient nervous system. Becoming aware of when one feels out of balance or in an uncomfortable state of mind is the first step in making a change. Slow, mindful, breath-led movements assist in alleviating pain, stress, and inflammation. Repetition is essential for neuroplasticity and building resilience, so students receive a short home practice each week. Paula believes that slow-paced movement with breath awareness facilitates the development of an inner connection with one’s heart. For many, the heart is the home of the True Self, the part of each of us that holds our wisest selves.
